2026 IFCA AWARD Winners

LOS ANGELES, CA — The Independent Film Critics of America (IFCA) has officially revealed the winners for the 2026 film season, celebrating a year of monumental achievements in both independent and studio cinema.

Following its dominant showing in the nominations, Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” emerged as the evening’s biggest victor, sweeping major categories including Best Picture and Best Studio Director. The film also secured wins for Michael B. Jordan (Best Actor), Delroy Lindo (Best Supporting Actor), and Best Screenplay. In a significant win for high-octane cinema, Joseph Kosinski’s “F1” sped ahead of the competition to claim the award for Best Blockbuster Picture.

Other major honors were distributed across a diverse slate of films. Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” took home several key awards, including Best Ensemble and Best Adapted Screenplay. In the acting categories, Jessie Buckley was honored as Best Actress for “Hamnet,” while Chloé Zhao earned Best Independent Director for the same film.

Technical excellence was also spotlighted, with “Train Dreams” taking home Best Cinematography and a share of the Most Inspirational Film award, while Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein” swept the aesthetic categories of Best Makeup and Best Costume Design.
