ABOUT MICHAEL MCKINNEY
Michael McKinney graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in Film. Michael’s television career has spanned over 40 years, during which he has worked at stations in San Antonio, Dallas, and Atlanta. Last One To Leave The Theatre, a weekly review blog, was founded by Michael in 2011. For ten years, he was the film critic for the CBS-owned CW station WUPA in Atlanta, GA. His work on the CW Atlanta website included writing long-form reviews, conducting interviews, and writing a weekly preview column. Since 2018, Michael has been writing for the online site FanBolt, and for the past three years, he has been posting weekly previews of films being released in theaters and on streaming sites. The L.A. Film Festival, SXSW Film Festival, Austin Film Festival, and the Atlanta Film Festival are just a few of the film festivals Michael has covered over the years.
